Board Meeting for Board Officers 2026-2027

We will be holding our Election for Officers for the school board for the 2026 – 2027 school year on September 13th at 2 p.m. at the school grounds. We would love to welcome anyone is interested to put their name in for candidacy.

Being on the School Board is a wonderful opportunity to volunteer, give back to the community and share your valuable feedback in a meaningful way.

Our Officers are the backbone of our organization and support the School Board in a variety of powerful and vital ways:

-President

-Vice President

-Secretary

-Treasurer

Each position is open and will be voted on from eligible* candidates.

*As stated in our Bylaws, Officers are typically chosen from and by Board Members. Anyone not currently a board member can still submit their interest in candidacy, which will be reviewed by current members for eligibility- based on availability, qualifications and interest level.

Family Fun Events & Programs for the Fall

Hello everyone! We are back, after summer break with some new updates on our programs and events.

After many years of partnering with First Five Humboldt to run our Playgroup for families 0 – 5 years old, we are now focusing on offering a similar family-centered program for all ages that is funded entirely by Salmon Creek Community School.

We are excited to still be hosting our reading group every second Friday of the month between September and June, from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Garberville Humbolt County Library. We will usually meet up somewhere near by afterwards, to continue spending time together, have some healthy snacks and explore the local area.

We will also be supporting the Kids Zones at various fund-raising and community events, including the Eel River Big Time Walaki Event on September 12th – more details to come!

And in October we will be at the Fruitland Ridger Fire District Fundraiser on the 18th, as well as our own Kids Zone at our Harvest Ball Fundraiser on the 24th.

We will continue to share updates on all those events, plus when we will be up at our school for Family Fun Events and what those will look like.

We will miss being apart of the First Five playgroup community directly, but we continue to collaborate and share information to encourage families to engage and have fun with our new programs.

Annual Auction – Sept. 19th, 2026

Our Annual Auction will be held on Saturday, September 19th this year starting at 1 p.m.👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

We’ll be collecting donations from small & local businesses, neighbors and anyone who is able to contribute in any way!

Got some interesting and valuable goods you’d like to see go to a good home for a good cause? 🤩

There will be a main meal offered more details to come, but pot luck side dishes are absolutely welcomed and encouraged! 😁🥗
And for all our fabulous bakers our there, pies and cakes are great auction items. 🤤🎂🥧

Loop-A-Thon. June 6th

The Loop-a-Thon will be on Saturday, June 6th this year. Starting around 9 a.m. at the school grounds, make the nearly 9 mile trek however you’d like. On foot, on bike or complete what you can!

Reach out to family and friends to get pledge for your participation.

If you live on the Loop and would like to put out snacks, refreshment and/or drinkable water, our participants would greatly appreciate it!
